Overview

As much of the original aircraft structure was left in tact as possible when constructing this piece as the holes in the frame were already a perfect size for bottles. Only the outer skin was repainted in a Tractor Blue and Plain White to give it a more professional finish whilst leaving the inner frame work in its original condition to give the whole aesthetic a more rustic, industrial look which fits in with the Relic theme of recycling and repurposing.

Many challenges were faced whilst creating the mini bar the biggest being making sure bars surface is level. The metal fame which holds the wing and enables it to be mobile, had to be positioned and repositioned countless times before it was affixed to ensure everything was correct.

The Islander mini bar is a unique eye catching design, a perfect example of how something can be repurposed and brought back to life with a renewed purpose.
